I love morning glories. I grow them in containers because they have a tendency to just TAKE OVER wherever they fall. Waking up in the morning to a big, colorful bush (I grow mine up tomato cages) right outside my office window is just lovely.
The variety in the photo is an heirloom variety called President Tyler. It’s one of my favorites.
I’m about to embark on a new journey tomorrow! Morning glories make me feel optimistic and forward-looking, hence why I wanted to use a photo of one to accompany my story.
From tomorrow (Thursday) through Monday, I will accrue 50 of my 200 hours of training to become a certified yoga teacher here in the US. I am so excited for the next 6 months. (I get my official papers in February 2011.)
Yoga has been wonderful for me. It’s not that I’m searching out a new career, but sometimes it’s nice to do something other than what you DO. Know what I mean? I love my job as a designer and that is just something that I will always, always do. But, it involves sitting at a desk, working at a computer and answering phones. Yoga is the opposite, it involves working out, breathing deeply, and getting out of the office. It brings balance to my life.
Know what I’m really looking forward to? I have to have 20 hours of anatomy training as part of my certification and we’re going to get to spend several hours with a cadaver. I am so looking forward to learning about the body in that way.
Anyway, that’s my good news. And my exciting news. ;)
