I sent out some small parcels to a few friends last week. I tucked these little cards into white coin envelopes and nestled those in with the rest of the contents of the parcel.
I love white ink, and I love red paper.
I also love the notion behind Valentine’s day, and I think this might be one of the best messages to send out to others, regardless of how close we are to February 14th. It’s a loving sentiment, no?
I did these with a vintage Esterbrook calligraphy nib I literally rammed into an old wooden nib holder. Need to get a decent one; note to self.
Dip that nib in white ink and just flick your wrist. Voila! A happy reminder. You can see the different lettering styles in this post and I did them all with just the one Esterbrook nib. I also took no ‘do overs’ and just did what I did.
I just was what I was, know what I mean?
May you be what you are, and nothing else.
PS: If you like what I am, please come say hi to me over on Facebook. I asked a very important question today: if I needed to make a cocktail to serve at a calligraphy party and I gave you the adjective ‘inky’ to describe the drink…. how would you make it? Here I am on Facebook.
