I have fertilized mine before. When I did (I just used one of those sticks) the leaves got green. They lost all their red, and two of them on the bottom fell off.

So, the answer is that you are better off watering it regularly, getting it enough sun, keeping away from cold drafts and potentially, if you do want to fertilize, mix a little (just a little) into the water.</description>
