When You’re Almost Home

Traveling in general causes many of us to exhibit certain behaviors.

We are suddenly afraid of doorknobs.
We might hold our wallets and purses much tighter than normal.
We may become more cognizant of people we pass on the street.

Traveling, especially for those of us that don’t do it very often, can really put you on edge. Does this ring a bell with anyone?

But, how wonderful is it when you’re almost home? This is a photo of my ‘almost home’ spot; it’s a spot I have to drive through on many of my travels.

Almost Home

When I see the smoke off in the distance (it’s actually from a power station) I know I’m almost there. I tend to perk up, sit up straight and relax a little when I get to this point.

ok sorry I came back to comment again. I look at different blogs through the day. Usually from one blog to another and dont know where I started. You commented earlier on my blog about the pumpkin festival and being there before! I just thought it was weird to come across someones blog and actually be so close. I am guessing you are either from WV or visit?
