My husband is a gem. He actually designed my wedding band for me. I receive compliments on it all the time; especially when I’m out and about at places like the grocery store and out shopping.
Here she is:
The center is, in fact, a diamond. Except it’s a brown diamond. Most people don’t realize those even exist, but they most certainly do. So do yellow, orange, green, black and pink ones. Brown is my favorite color. I love brown, it’s beautiful. The center brown diamond is set in rose gold and white diamonds which makes for a beautiful effect.
Man, this ring needs to be cleaned.
Mine is coming to me soon…I can’t wait to see it. I actually picked out the setting from a box of antique rings. They were all filty and tarnished – but I saw one that is art deco and I fell in love with it. Then the BF and I chose a pink sapphire to go with it. I love pink as much as you love brown! haha
So – I know it’s coming – but I haven’t seen the final product and I don’t know when I’ll be getting it – but I can’t wait!
I think it’s really cool because nobody else will have that ring and I sort of “designed” it myself.
oooo, Art Deco is my absolute favorite style. I love wallpapers from Bradbury & Bradbury that are in the art deco style. I think in jewelry, the art deco style lends itself beautifully to gemstone settings.
Sapphires are incredibly romantic and a much better choice than a pink diamond as far as history goes. Let me know a.) when you get it and b.) when you post a photo!
Cole…your ring is beautiful! And how romantic of your husband to design it especially for you! Sounds like you’ve got a keeper there! I had no idea there were such things as brown diamonds, it just goes to show that you do learn a new thing every day!

Gorgeous ring!! I love brown stones and I think they look absolutely beautiful in rings. I just took a new job with a jewellery company and I’m looking forward to expanding my collection :)
My engagement and wedding rings were picked by hubby and I together. He wanted to make sure I would like them since I’m the one who has to wear them haha. It was very sweet though and I didn’t mind the lack of surprise since I got rings I love!
Ok, that sounds like a FANTASTIC job. I certainly hope you blog about what you learn there because lord knows I would LOVE to learn more about jewelry.
